Brett Barker

Currently I am a senior in CS and should be graduating in December. I am going to continue my education at the University of Kansas where I hope to obtain a Master's Degree in Computer Science. After that, I'm not sure what I will do. I may stay and do a little teaching or move into the industry.

I originally came to Rolla as an Aerospace Engineer, but thermodynamics and few other engineering courses soon changed my mind. Fortunately, I was planning on getting a degree in CS at the same time so switching later didn't hurt me all that badly.

I have been fortunate enough to work over the summer and Christmas breaks the last four years at Dassualt Falcon Jet in Little Rock, Arkansas. There I spent the first two years in Engineering and the last two years in the two MIS departments. One is for Engineering support, supplying aid for CAD systems, the other is for the plant PC's and networking.

The Winter semester of 2003 I joined Dr. Hilgers VR team that is now called VENOM. I've been working on a very difficult problem of trying to represent a physical structure of a building into a data structure that can be used in virtual environment simulations. I am also in charge of building this beautiful website that you are purusing right now.

Aside from this and my work experience, I've had work in Artificial Intelligence, Java, JavaScript, C++, Fortran 90, as well as learning CATIA V4 and V5 from work at Dassault. My webpage has my full resume if interested.
