I came. I saw. I got bored. Boredom, coupled with the failing job market and my own inability to find a decent internship lead me to VENOM Labs (cue trumpet fanfare). There’s really not much to say; I’m currently majoring in both Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (seriously) with hopes of graduating next May. What will happen next is anyone’s guess, though we can hopefully rule out food service and general Johnny-on-the-Spot maintenance. What will likely happen is I’ll put off looking for a job for far too long and in an uncertain, panic-stricken state I will sign up for graduate school at UMR to put off the inevitable plunge into the vastness of the “real world” for another year and a half. Following graduate school will be another brief moment of running around naked yelling “What do I do NOW?!?” followed by me getting a doctorate to further push back the “real-world.” Fifty years later I’ll wake up one morning, look in a mirror and realize I’ve done nothing but teach for the last fourty-six years. Shortly after I’ll forget what I was thinking and go back to my “research” consisting of observing the effects of playing Warcraft XXXVIII for twenty hours a day on one specific subject (me).

Ahh, the joys of an uncertain future….

My interests are computational numerics, artificial intelligence, graphics programming, and (of course) playing video games. Note the last of which consumes the bulk of my time and generally keeps me from having an active social life, but I’m not one to complain (go Night Elves!). At one point I had visions of being a game programmer, but as I entered college those visions faded as I found much more interesting fields to study. I won’t say what those fields are, as I’m not quite sure what they are myself, but you may rest assured they do exist. I think…

As far as my association with VENOM Labs, I’m currently working on the Half-Life portion of things for the FiRSTE Project and Dr. Hall’s experiments. Once the 3.0 release of FiRSTE is complete I hope to move toward the Torque engine as well. I plan on continuing work with VENOM Labs in the fall on a more “unofficial” (see: payless) manor for reasons I currently do not know, but I fear will result in my own demise if I try to find out.
